Blaney to host series of virtual townhalls for remote communities in her riding

The federal riding of North Island-Powell River is the third largest in BC and includes four regional districts, 11 municipalities, 21 First Nations, seven ferry routes and countless islands and inlets. Since the onset of the pandemic, MP Rachel Blaney has stopped travelling to visit many of the small, rural and remote communities in keeping with recommendations of public health officials and out of respect and concern for community safety. Instead, Blaney is hosting a series of virtual townhalls to hear directly from constituents in communities around the riding.

“I have missed personally visiting with residents in our small and remote communities. It’s one of the things I love most about our riding and my job as MP. While we have many things in common, the issues and concerns in one community or region may not be exactly the same in another, and the experience is very different than that of our larger towns.” -Rachel Blaney

The virtual townhalls will be held on Zoom and registration is required.
